Year 4 had a special visitor who came to tell us all about the Anglo-Saxons and Vikings. We started in her house learning about Viking families and how their villages were run. Then we looked at different artefacts. We used stones to grind flour and used Viking tools to chisel, saw and make holes in wood. As part of our science ambassador programme, we invited parents and siblings to join us as we completed a STEM workshop. We used K’NEX to design and create a machine to propel a ball as far as possible. Everyone, including parents, had a great time and learned lots about forces and working together as a team.

As part of their writing lessons, some pupils from Year 6 took part in a GD Writing Workshop. The Year 6 pupils had to write a short story about a picture that they had chosen from a selection that they had been given.
