Reception Trip to Dudley Zoo đž
We were delighted that our Reception children had the opportunity to visit Dudley Zoo as part of our learning this term. The trip gave the children a wonderful chance to explore a wide variety of animals, learn about different habitats, and develop their understanding of the world around them. Reception - Letters to Santa
Children throughout EYFS have enjoyed a magical festive event with their parents! Everyone gathered to listen to a special letter read aloud from Santa himself, which filled the room with excitement! The children then worked with their parents to create their own letters to post to Santa. They cut pictures out of catalogues, labelled their pictures and made sure they wrote their names on. Early Years âSunflower Art Project
Children throughout our Early Years (aged 2-5 years), are currently taking part in their very own Sunflower Project. They have been using their senses to explore real sunflowers and have also planted some sunflower seeds to care for and grow at home. â As part of our sunflower project, we looked at the famous artwork âSunflowersâ by Vincent Van Gogh. T4Ts and Nursery Farm on Wheels
The children (and staff) were very excited to welcome Stella the Farmer from Farm on Wheels to school. Stella bought some of her farm animals in her trailer for the children to meet. There was Racket the donkey, Hugo the rabbit, Kevin and Timmy the lambs, some hens and ducks. The children enjoyed feeding, petting and walking the animals. The children learnt lots about the different animals and imitated the animal sounds they heard!

Ducklings in Nursery
We have really enjoyed looking after the duck eggs in EYFS over the last two weeks. The eggs had to stay in the incubator until they were ready to hatch. We watched closely and then suddenly one of the eggs cracked and a little duckling broke the shell and climbed out. He was soon joined by two more. The children have really enjoyed watching them grow and have all had the opportunity to hold a duckling carefully too. They have now left us to go back to the farm to continue gr

Black History Month
Black History Month takes place every October. This year at Wilkinson each year group has celebrated the work of artists. Nursery have been finding out about Alma Thomas. Alma was an African-American, she retired from teaching and became an artist. Her abstract art uses lots of bold colours. We looked at her artwork and created our own interpretation using collage on a large scale. Watch this clip to find out more about Alma Thomas.

On Wednesdays we spend lots of time exploring and learning outside. The children have been on adventures experiencing our outdoor spaces around school. Rolling down the big hills is a definite favourite!

Welcome to Nursery -September
This month the children have been getting used to their new routines since joining, or returning to Nursery. They have been developing friendships with each other and are learning our class rules. T4Ts Farm on Wheels Experience
The children were very excited to meet Stella from Farm on Wheels. She drove to school with her trailer to show our children some of her farm animals. There were goats, lambs, chickens, ducks and rabbits. â The children and staff enjoyed meeting the animals, we were able to stroke them or walk them. We fed the lambs and goats some milk and the fed the chicken some corn. We all had a wonderful day meeting Stella and her animals!

Mark Making Stay and Play
Two's stay and play was based on the story 'The Very Hungry Caterpillar'. There were lots of mark making activities provided such as butterfly and fruit painting, playdough disco, fruit hunt outside, spaghetti paint brush painting and moving like a butterfly using different materials.

Around the World Topic
This term T4Ts topic has been âAround the Worldâ. The children have been introduced to countries around the world including the UK, Australia, China, India, Africa, and Italy. The children have taken part in lots of different activities which have been based around these countries. Some of their favourites have been: - making boomerangs and racing them on the school field; making Divas which children have taken home; painting hands to print the Italian flag; collaging African

Two's Outcome
Twoâs Parents and Carers came into school to engage in a variety of activities based on our termly topic which was Storyland and Nursery rhymes. Parents and Carers were shown a short PowerPoint of the childrenâs learning this term and were invited to a stay and play session.

Christmas Fayre
Terrific for Twos had a fantastic turn out for our Christmas Craft Day. Thank you to all of you who attended. There were lots of creative activities such as decorating your own bauble, making reindeer food, creating a Santa or reindeer spoon. The children made some lovely crafts to take home.

Outdoor Wednesdays
Children in Terrific for Twos and Nursery love Outdoor Wednesdays! We put on our waterproofs and explore the great outdoors. Outdoor learning boosts confidence, social skills, communication, physical skills, knowledge and understanding. It increases childrenâs self-esteem, self-confidence, and ability to work cooperatively through hands-on learning experiences in our Forest School and outdoor learning environment.
