Year 6 - Transport Booklet
As part of the Year 6 topic work, Transport, the pupils have created a booklet which details their learning throughout their history and geography work. Here is a preview of the booklet which can be purchased on Arbor.

National Space Centre
The children of Year 6 visited the National Space Centre in Leicester to look at transport in outer space. As part of the trip, they visited the planetarium to learn about how astronauts train their bodies and mind for space travel. They also learned all about the space race and how technology has advanced through the years allowing humans to visit the moon and collect samples from space!

Year 6 GD Writing Workshop
As part of their writing lessons, some pupils from Year 6 took part in a GD Writing Workshop. The Year 6 pupils had to write a short story about a picture that they had chosen from a selection that they had been given. The pictures were a collection of different animals in their natural habitat. To begin the session, the pupils had a zoom call with other schools in Wolverhampton. Interactive Exhibition
As part of the Year 6 topic 'Natural Disasters', the Year 6 pupils created an interactive exhibition to raise funds for a local charity. Work from throughout the term was put on display and the visitors had chance to create disaster poems, bookmarks and have a photo in front of a natural disaster!

Year 6 Visit to Bewdley
As part of the Year 6 Natural Disasters topic, the Year 6 children visited Bewdley to learn all about how the town has adapted to deal with flooding from The River Severn. They took part in a learning walk along the river path to learn how the flood defences for the town operate and the history of flooding in the town. The children also learned about the historic tradition of rope-making in Bewdley and essential life-saving skills for along the riverside!

Year 5 Mayan Extravaganza Outcome
On the afternoon of Thursday 3rd April, Year 5 had their Mayan extravaganza outcome. Parents were invited to attend, and the children were able to show them all they had learned during their Spring History topic. The Butterfly Farm
Year Five’s topic in Spring term is based around the question - Where did all the Maya go? We began our topic by visiting The Butterfly Farm in Stratford to try and experience what life would have been like for the ancient Maya people. Viking Activities
Year 5 hosted their very own event this term in the school hall and invited children from Stowlawn Primary School to take part in a day full of Viking activities. The children from Year 5 carried out code-breaking sessions, origami, jewellery making and even archery!

Anglo-Saxon Day
Year 4 started the term with an Anglo-Saxon day with a special visitor. We began with a hundred court where we had to decide if people were innocent or guilty. Then we played some Anglo-Saxon games. We learnt about how they would make clothes and used a lucet to create a bracelet. Finally, we went outside with shields and weapons to have an Anglo-Saxon battle.

Wroxeter Roman City
We visited the remains of the Roman City of Wroxeter. we were able to explore the bath houses and learn about how the Romans kept clean and healthy and why this was so important to them. We acted as if we were Romans visiting the baths, learning that we needed to pay someone to watch our clothes and prevent them from being stolen. Stone-Age Experience at The Kingswood Trust
Year 3 visited the Kingswood Trust to take part in a Stone Age Experience. During the day we built shelters from branches and ferns like Stone Age people would have done when they were hunting for food. We saw how to make a fire. We stripped thin branches of willow so they were clean and twisted bread dough onto them. We cooked our bread over the fire. Some of us were brave enough to eat our bread. Autumn Term 2020
Over this term, we have been very busy. We looked at the Hindu festival of Light – Diwali. Went on an autumn walk, used part, part wholes to solve maths problems, read the story of Elmer by David Mckee, creating our own mat in the style of Elmer’s patterns. We even carried out a water investigation to help teddy find a suitable material to build his tent.

We are Film-Makers
n our computing lessons we have been looking at film making. We looked at some of the different jobs involved in film making: camera operators, directors and editors. We made a story board, used different types of shot and edited our film. We hope you enjoy our films.

African Drumming and Dance Workshop
We enjoyed having a visitor in school who taught us African dancing and drumming skills. We were able to explore new instruments and a new genre of music.
