Year 2 - India
Year 2 had a visitor in school to talk to us about our new topic, India. We explored Indian artifacts, Indian dances and heard traditional stories about Gods and Goddess.

Selly Manor February 2026
As part of their Spring Term topic Year 2 enjoyed a visit to Selly Manor in Bourneville, Birmingham where they learned all about the Great Fire of London and that historical period. They had a very busy day that consisted of storytelling, playing games and a tour around the manor house. The children had a brilliant time, and the visit added context to the lessons they have taken part in, in History and Geography this term.

Year 2 - Family Afternoon
In November, we enjoyed a wonderful afternoon with some of our family members. We invited them into school to hear us sing “it’s a long way to Tipperary” and to take a look at all of our beautiful artwork we have created during the term as part of our topic “World War Two”. We displayed our clay poppies, propaganda posters, Remembrance Day scenes and gas masks which we have been creating during our creative and topic lessons. Year 2 trip to Cosford Air Museum
Children took part in their second trip of Year 2 with a visit to Cosford Air Museum. They enjoyed seeing the amazing planes that they have been learning about including the Spitfire, Messerschmitt and Miles Magister. Everyone had a wonderful day and children can now say they have sat in the cockpit of a fighter jet!

Year 2 Kingswood trip September 2025
In the week beginning 22nd September Year 2 took part in their annual residential visit to Kingswood. We were blessed with wonderful weather and everyone had a brilliant time, taking part in outdoor activities, meeting lots of animals and even visiting Kingswood’s very own Anderson Shelter. Lots of the children have grown in confidence with some asking if there is a residential visit every year!

The Victorians – Year 1
We were introduced to our “Victorians” topic with a fantastic workshop from historical workshops. Mr De’Ath taught us all about the Victorians and what it would have been like for the children living during the Victorian era. We explored lots of topics including toys, homes, jobs and school. Canal Art
During the spring term in Year One, we have been busy learning all about canals. We have been learning what they were/are used for, when they were built and have created some of our own canal art inspired by the local artist Julie Tonkin. We created a pack to take home including a bookmark, painted tile and an e-book that we created in pairs. Take a look at some of our canal art and e-books.

Animal Day
Reception invited family members into school to join us on our animal day. Thanks to Laura, the Animal Lady, we got to meet a wonderful selection of animals such as a snake, a bearded dragon, an owl, a gecko, a hissing cockroach, guinea pig and an extremely cute honey bear (which turned out to be everyone’s favourite!). We learnt lots of facts about each animal and then completed a piece of writing with our grown- ups. We had a fantastic day!

Sir David Attenborough's Birthday
Nursery launched their summer topic 'Animal Kingdoms' by learning about Sir David Attenborough. They found out that his birthday is on 8th May and decided to make him a birthday card, which was posted to him. The children and staff were elated to receive a reply hand written by David Attenborough himself.
