We have really enjoyed looking after the duck eggs in EYFS over the last two weeks. The eggs had to stay in the incubator until they were ready to hatch. We watched closely and then suddenly one of the eggs cracked and a little duckling broke the shell and climbed out. He was soon joined by two more. The children have really enjoyed watching them grow and have all had the opportunity to hold a duckling carefully too.
They have now left us to go back to the farm to continue growing into adult ducks. We will miss hearing them chirp outside Nursery classroom!
