In ICT this term we have been learning to programme a BlueBot.

Our Learning Outcome was a Teddy Bears Picnic. We made fruit salad and jam sandwiches.

Nursery enjoyed finding out about Diwali, the festival of light. We turned the lights off in the classroom and lit some Diva lamps. The children enjoyed dressing up, creating firework pictures on the IWB and some large Rangoli patterns using chalk on the playground.

Black History Month takes place every October. This year at Wilkinson each year group has celebrated the work of artists. Nursery have been finding out about Alma Thomas. Alma was an African-American, she retired from teaching and became an artist. Her abstract art uses lots of bold colours. We looked at her artwork and created our own interpretation using collage on a large scale. Watch this clip to find out more about Alma Thomas.

On Wednesdays we spend lots of time exploring and learning outside. The children have been on adventures experiencing our outdoor spaces around school. Rolling down the big hills is a definite favourite!

This year we were blessed with good weather on our brilliant adventure to Kingswood. We took part in lots of exciting activities, and all feel really grown up now as we slept overnight without our parents! We enjoyed eating delicious food and even enjoyed a picnic outside on the lawn!
