Lunt Roman Fort

Year 4 went to the Lunt Roman Fort for our Roman topic. We went through the gates to discover the battle arena where we learnt to fight like a Roman solider. We started by learning how to hold a sword correctly and fight using the shield. Then children were separated into 4 groups so they could have a group battle and protect their teacher.

We also learnt about their armour, we saw the many different layers they would wear and some children got to try them on. There were lots of different artefacts to look at and even things to smell! We got to play some different Roman games and try on jewellery. We had a really fun day and learnt lots.
