The children in Year 2 had a great time being creative as they followed step by step folding instructions and then added facial features using colours to make their Origami Dog faces.

Year Five’s topic in Spring term is based around the question - Where did all the Maya go?  We began our topic by visiting The Butterfly Farm in Stratford to try and experience what life would have been like for the ancient Maya people. Stratford-upon-Avon Butterfly Farm is a unique rainforest environment set within a series of greenhouses. It is landscaped with tropical blossom, fish-filled pools, splashing waterfalls and themed to the ancient Maya civilisation with replicated Maya artefacts throughout.

This week we have explored how to construct towers from stands of spaghetti and marshmallows to support a given weight. It was great fun and we learned lots!

During the Autumn term we took part in a Cross Country race at Springdale Primary and had a great time competing against other schools, winning a gold medal, one silver medal and two bronze medals. Well done everyone!

Our Year 4 team represented the school at the most recent maths competition at King Edward’s school, Birmingham. They enjoyed the experience and came 6th out of 9 schools. Well done boys!
