School Competition
We have long sporting tradition at Wilkinson across a range of sporting disciplines. Take a look at some of our sporting successes.
Football
Sporting Excellence
Wilkinson Primary School has a long tradition of success. Every year the children take pace in the local authority football league. This year the team have had an excellent season losing only one game and finishing runners up in the league.
Cross Country
Bilston Champions!
In an annual event we attend Bilston Primary School for the local area race. This year pupils from Wilkinson showed how much training they had put in over the season and were able to once again come first place in the Boys’ race and second in the Girls’ race. History was made at this race as one of our runners, Joshua , came first for the third year in a row. This has never happened in the history of the Bilston race.
Cricket
Children from Years 4, 5 and 6 travel to Bert Williams every Friday to practise their cricket skills! From fast bowling to 6 hitting, there is nothing this team can not do! The children learn all about the game and how complex it can be. Well done team Wilkinson!
Athletics
As well as our Cross Country team, each year we take part in the Annual Town Athletics championships at Aldersley stadium. We take a team of girls and boys to compete in a range of athletic events and currently we have the boys sprint gold medal winner - the fastest primary boy in the borough! Well done Joshua! Well done Wilkinson team!
