Full School Reopening - 8th March 2021
Please see below information and procedures for the reopening of the school.
In line with current Government policy, Wilkinson Primary School will be reopening for all pupils on Monday 8th March 2021. We have set out, in the letter below, the arrangements and procedures we intend to put in place to ensure a safe and smooth return.
You can download a PDF of the letter and map by clicking the PDF links at the bottom of the page.
If you need this letter in another language you can translate it using the 'select language' at the top of the page.
I hope you are all keeping safe and well. Following the Government’s new guidance, I write with details for our safe return on March 8th.
All children in every year group are expected to return to school on Monday 8th March. Children new to Wilkinson T42’s have been given their own starting arrangements.
Children will be taught in their Year Group Bubbles and stay with that group throughout the day, including lunchtimes and playtimes. Regular handwashing and cleaning will remain in place.
As per Government Guidelines, it is essential that we reorganise the start and finish times of the day to avoid adults congregating. With this in mind, we are going to continue to use the drop off and collection system we operated in the Autumn Term, as this proved to be successful, safeguarding everyone (see map below).
Children in the same family must be dropped off and collected with the earliest child to avoid parent’s having to wait or come to school multiple times. Please don’t enter the school gates before your allocated time.
Year 4 & 5 - drop off at 8.15am and collection at 2.30pm
Reception & Year 1 - drop off at 8.30am and collection at 2.45pm
Year 2 & 3 - drop off at 8.45am and collection at 3.00pm
AM Nursery & AM T42’s - drop off 8.45am, collection at 11.45am
PM Nursery & PM T42’s - drop off 12.15pm, collection at 3.15pm
Year 6 – drop off at 8.30 - collection at 2.45pm
Upon arrival please follow the arrows on the main driveway and bring your child to the usual place then follow the arrows back up the driveway. Please be aware of social distancing at all times.
Parking As Year 6 Children are going to be collected from the main gates. For theirs and everyone’s safety please park well away from the school gates.
Upon collection please see the map enclosed (below). It may take a little longer to dismiss the children for the first few days. Your patience would be very much appreciated.
It is necessary for everyone over the age of 12 to wear a face covering when on school premises. To keep numbers to a minimum only one adult will be able to drop off and collect their child. Punctuality is very important, please call the office if you have a problem.
Children will need to bring their PE kits into school along with their book bags, which I would be grateful if you could clean thoroughly beforehand. No large bags/rucksacks are to be brought into school.
Children will be required to wear full uniform, as usual and it is essential that all garments are clearly labelled with the child’s name.
A bottle from home, clearly labelled with your child’s name, would be very useful for in the classroom.
To keep the handling of money to a minimum please use Sims Pay for uniform, dinners (£2.20 per day), milk - £4.00 for the 4 weeks and toast - £2.00 for 4 weeks.
If you have already paid £5.70 for toast and £13.00 for milk from January- Easter, I would be grateful if you could please pay these additional costs for the 4 weeks and the full term’s money can be used for the Summer Term. If this is an issue please let us know!
If, for any reason, you are unable to use Sims Pay, please put the money in a sealed envelope labelled with your child’s name and class and give it to your child.
Please call or send an email to the school office. Try to avoid coming into the building.
Will open each morning at 8.00am and will close at 5.00pm.
I am sure you will appreciate that this is a very uncertain time for everyone. I would be grateful if you would talk to your child about handwashing and staying safe before they return to school.
If your child is feeling at all unwell please call the office for advice. If anyone in your household has Covid symptoms or is having a test, please keep your child at home until the results have returned.
