Kingswood Residential
September 2022
In the first few weeks of the term children in Year 2 went on an amazing visit to Kingswood. We all had a brilliant time and took part in lots of activities. The weather was beautiful and we were even able to have a picnic at teatime outside on the lawn!
There were lots of fun things to do such as den building, going on trails around the grounds and also having the chance to go into an old Anderson shelter that has been there since World War 2. This is our topic in the Autumn term so this was fantastic!

Dudley Canal Trip
February 2022
As part of Year 1’s topic lessons they visited The Dudley Canal Trust. Year 1 took part in a local workshop to discover all about the history of the tunnels and took a canal boat through the tunnels to finally discover – What is at the end of Dudley Canal?

Spring Term Topic
March 2021
During Spring Term in Reception, we have been on a journey around the world! We explored the United Kingdom, Antarctica, China, Spain and Africa, learning about the varied environments, and the lives of the people and animals who live there.
Whilst learning about each of our destinations, we took part in a variety of creative activities, including making Spanish fans, painting UK landmarks, making Chinese dragons and creating our own Antarctic snow scenes.
We spent lots of this term learning at home. However, we stayed connected and shared our hard work and achievements on our class blog. Here are some examples of the amazing work we produced.

Our Autumn Term Topic
Autumn 2020
During Autumn Term in Reception, we have been exploring our favourite bedtime stories. These include; The Three Little Pigs, Goldilocks and the Three bears, We're Going on a Bear Hunt, Room on the Broom, The Gruffalo and The Three Billy Goats Gruff. We have especially enjoyed the range of outdoor activities we have completed throughout this topic. Here are some photos of us having fun outdoors.
We enjoyed looking for mini-beasts.
The children enjoyed working together to build a bridge for the Troll to live under and the Billy Goats Gruff to walk over.
We collected sticks from the outside area and used them to make our very own magic wands.
We developed out mathematical skills by taking our maths resources outside and solving problems.
We were very excited to go on our own bear hunt. Can you remember where we found our bear?
Understanding the World
September 2020
This half term in Reception, we have completed a variety of ‘Understanding the World’ activities.
We used mirrors to observe our features and discussed differences between ourselves and our friends. We painted self-portraits to be displayed in our classroom.
After discussing our own environment, we began to learn about the environments of other people and animals. We were able to match the characters with their homes and habitats.
We are enjoying spending lots of time outside, exploring the outdoor area. We especially like to search for snails and other minibeasts in the gardening area.

Little Red Riding Hood Animation
Autumn Term 2019
In Nursery we learnt all about fairy tales during the Autumn term. We created our own animation of Little Red Riding Hood. We enjoyed drawing the characters and scenery and using the recording both to record the audio. We created the animation using the Puppet Pals app.
